What does that have to do with a cooking show?

Financial Security

For me, that's what a cooking show is all about...financial security. Being able to consistently generate a lot of income and without requiring that you trade your time for it.

If you want to start a cooking show for fun, put your camera on a tripod and press record. This isn't rocket science.

But if you're looking to create financial freedom and financial security throughout your life, then the approach to your cooking show has to be entirely different.

And you have to get to work on it NOW because you don't know how much time you have to put yourself into a secure situation because, as the panelist shared at the end, her mom got diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in her mid-fifties. So you just assuming you're going to have your health indefinitely into the future is just reckless...especially if you're the breadwinner.

Tomorrow Is Not Promised

None of us knows how much time we have or how many HEALTHY years we have. So that's why I frequently visit this topic.

For me, a cooking show is a tool for taking care of yourself and your family and enjoying a fantastic life and ensuring that you never become a burden to anyone.

But you have to stop thinking about starting your cooking show and get to work on it because you do not know what tomorrow has in store for you, even if you think you've saved enough money. The family in this story just showed you how fast those retirement savings can disappear.

"You think you have the money, but it's not what you think it is."

That generational wealth transfer you had in mind goes out the window when you've spent all your resources caring for an ailing parent.

So if you're not careful, what you envision leaving behind for your kids may not happen. Medical expenses tend to wipe out nest eggs in the U.S.

And never mind transferring wealth, how are YOU even going to retire?

Creating a safety net for yourself and your family is something that a cooking show can do for you.

But not if you never get started.
